Ok, this is a piece of last min exam procrastination that I am ashamed of. I'm revising still now at midnight when I have a 9am exam. It's on Conservation which is soooo interesting, but I judt don't feel ready enough to answer the questions as well as I know I can. Think I'm more worried that I need to know the whole lecture content. If you don't go to uni (or at least my uni) you don't know that you can usually get away with not knowing everything- there's too much to parrot learn. So usually if I have to answer say 2 out of 6 questions I'll try and learn 60% of the material. This exam I have 3 essays in 3 hours (hand ache much). But it's not free choice. you have to do 1 from 3 in section A, 1 from section B and 1 from section C. And basically section A is the 1st half the lectures, section C is the 2nd half and section B is a data interpretation based essay. So section B, ok, I can read data and infer things. But it means the 2 things I'm really good at: invasive species concepts and biotic responses to climate change are both section C questions. And I'm not so good with section A: rarity and extinction, mapping, modelling, monitoring etc. And I know I should be, I've done 2 pieces of coursework on those!
Ok rant about the structure of my exam over.
Other thing to note about tomorrows exam: it's the last thing I have to do for my degree. As of the 16th June I'll have my degree result and have to get a job. Scary. 1st time in... 17years I haven't been in full time education. What am I supposed to do now? Who knows. I'd love a job in conservation but that's so hard to get in to *sigh*.
Anyway, my journal entry is homage to the fact that Fleetwood Mac has got me through my exams this year. Just had the double disc best of on a loop. Is a tad distracting at times. Certain songs make me listen more than others which are just good... Things like "Tusk" are dramatic and others like "Silver Springs" just have nice lyrics, almost poetry like... Thank God my dad gave me a good musical upbringing. Genius song writers like 'Mac and the Beatles, as well as just plain lovely voices such as Karen Carpenter and Cass Eliot... I'll stop now...
Bye xxx
